Helping seniors stay strong at home – in partnership with Benetas

At United Physiotherapy Group, we’re passionate about what can be achieved when we come together. Our partnership with Benetas is a fantastic example of how collaboration leads to better care and better outcomes for older adults living at home.

Over eight weeks, our physiotherapists delivered twice-weekly sessions for 17 Benetas home care clients. The aim? To boost mobility, balance, and independence, and the results were outstanding. Every single participant improved in at least one area, and 10 people saw gains across three or more, including movement, confidence, and self-care. Most importantly, there was a clear reduction in fall risk.

But the numbers only tell part of the story. What really matters is how people felt.

Thomas’s story (shared by his son, Dan):
Dan told us that his dad, Thomas, has loved getting back into physical activity, something that’s been important to him for decades. “He loves feeling the muscles work again, it motivates him,” Dan shared. While there haven’t been dramatic physical changes (“he is 90, after all!”), the sessions have kept Thomas moving and engaged. Dan also praised our physio, Brenden, for striking the perfect balance between pushing and encouraging.

Iris’s story:
Iris told us how much she’s enjoying her weekly physiotherapy sessions, especially because they reunited her with Warren, a physio she’d worked with before. “It felt really good to see a familiar face,” she said. Iris appreciated that the exercises were simple, effective, and easy to continue from her chair each day. She also highlighted Warren’s kindness and support, sharing how well the sessions fit into her routine.

Hearing stories like Thomas’s and Iris’s, and seeing the trust they’ve built with our physios Brenden Do and Warren Luu, is something we’re incredibly proud of. It speaks to one of our biggest goals: making physiotherapy not just effective, but personal and memorable.

“Working closely with providers like Benetas reaffirms our belief in collaboration as a powerful way to support older adults and raise the standard of aged care,” said Claire Fletcher, General Manager of United Physiotherapy Group. “Programs like this show what’s possible when we build care around people’s real needs and focus on outcomes that truly matter.”

We’re excited to keep working together to help more seniors stay active, independent, and confident at home, one person at a time.
