Physiotherapy in Residential Aged Care: Improving Safety and Quality of Life
We take pride in providing high quality of physiotherapy in residential aged care, helping residents live safely, confidently, and with greater independence. Recently, we received inspiring feedback from Judy, one of our residents, and her story highlights the real difference personalised physiotherapy can make.
Judy had been struggling with severe dizziness for years. This condition not only affected her daily life but also posed serious risks, including hospital visits, falls, and even injuries from accidents. Despite seeing multiple physiotherapists over time, previous treatments often felt routine and ineffective, leaving her frustrated and still at risk.
Everything changed when Judy began working with two UPG physios, Shrushti and Sharjeel. Over just two weeks, their person-centred approach brought real improvements. Judy shared:
“They asked thoughtful questions no one else had considered—like whether my eyes were open or closed during dizziness, and whether it felt like my body was spinning or the world around me. This helped get to the root of the problem.
Instead of vague explanations or short-term fixes, they gave me clear, practical advice—such as limiting excess water and caffeine—and simple but highly effective exercises. I’ve already learned four or five exercises that have made a noticeable difference.
These two people are so young but so wise and so good at their jobs. For the first time, I feel like I’m receiving care that’s not only professional, but also deeply thoughtful, empowering, and genuinely effective. I’m incredibly grateful for both of them.”
Judy’s experience shows how residential aged care physiotherapy can improve not just physical health but also safety, confidence, and quality of life. Our team’s approach focuses on reducing fall risks, improving mobility, and empowering residents to maintain independence in their daily routines.
Our physiotherapists are committed to delivering evidence-based, personalised care for every resident. Whether it’s managing dizziness, preventing falls, or enhancing overall well-being, our goal is to create meaningful, lasting improvements for those in our care.
